We gave a range of booking times between 10.30-12 that we would be happy for a cleaner up come, for a duration of 3hrs for a 2 bed maisonette flat, and Marlina confirmed a slot the day before, starting at 11.30. Morning of, she messaged at 7am asking if she can come at 10/10.30 instead, but as it was a Sunday morning I wasn’t awake until 9.45. I was in the bathroom and my partner still in bed when she rang our doorbell at 10am and insisted she came in and started while we got ready to go out. An hour later when we were leaving she was still in the kitchen and cleaning inside the oven. I said I didn’t expect her to do this and she said ‘we don’t clean ovens, but this is just how I am’. My partner emphasised all the other rooms that needed doing and she said 3hrs is a long time I’ll do my best. We came home to find she had emptied our fridge to clean inside it and randomly removed our garlic and placed it on the side (intrusive and unnecessary), and had not hoovered the staircases or landings that very obviously needed it (covered in lint/hair/leaves) and parts of the bathroom were not cleaned. We now have to hoover half the house and clean the remaining parts of the bathroom ourselves after paying a pro to do this. I wouldn’t bother leaving a public review, but the combo of turning up 1.5hrs early, then doing things we didn’t ask for while not doing basic hoovering were two very bizarre things that we are really not happy with. I’m not sure what she used to clean the oven, but we turned it on when returning home to make lunch and have had to let the strong chemical smell burn off and not use it for a while as the smell is so strong it was giving me a headache.
